Terms & Conditions

ENDURANCE MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY

MEMBERSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS

Effective from: September 2026

Welcome to Endurance Martial Arts Academy.

These Terms & Conditions form part of your membership agreement with Endurance Martial Arts Academy (“Endurance”, “the Academy”, “we”, “us”).

By completing the digital acceptance at sign-up, the member — or parent/legal guardian where the member is under 18 — confirms that they have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Please read them carefully before joining.

1. MEMBERSHIP

Membership is personal to the registered student and cannot be transferred to another person.

Members must provide accurate and up-to-date information when joining, including contact details, emergency contact information and any relevant medical or health information necessary for safe participation.

For members under 18, membership must be completed by a parent/legal guardian or another person with appropriate parental responsibility.

The person entering into the membership agreement is responsible for membership payments and for ensuring that the child understands and follows Academy rules.

Membership is subject to these Terms & Conditions, the Academy Rules & Etiquette, safeguarding requirements and reasonable safety and operational policies introduced by Endurance.

2. MEMBERSHIP PAYMENTS

Regular membership fees are normally collected by Direct Debit unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed with Endurance.

Membership fees provide access according to the membership package selected.

Membership fees remain payable regardless of individual attendance unless Endurance has agreed otherwise.

If a payment fails, the member/account holder remains responsible for any amount properly due.

Continued non-payment may result in training being suspended until the account has been brought up to date.

3. CANCELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Endurance requires one month's written notice to cancel an ongoing membership.

Notice must be provided directly to Endurance Martial Arts Academy.

⚠️ CANCELLING YOUR DIRECT DEBIT DOES NOT CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP.

Cancelling a Direct Debit does not remove the requirement to provide the agreed notice or pay membership fees properly due during the notice period.

If your circumstances change, please speak to us.

Where appropriate, it may be possible to increase or decrease your training rather than cancelling your membership completely.

4. MISSED CLASSES

We understand that holidays, illness, school, work and family commitments happen.

Missed classes may be rolled over and made up at another appropriate Endurance class, subject to the timetable and suitability of the session.

Make-up classes:

• Are subject to class availability and suitability.
• Cannot be exchanged for cash or a refund.
• Must normally be used while the membership remains active.
• Do not guarantee access to a particular class where age, grade, ability or capacity restrictions apply.

If you expect to be absent for an extended period, please speak to us.

5. RE-JOINING

If membership is cancelled and the student later returns, a £40 re-joining administration fee will apply.

This does not include the cost of renewing an expired martial arts licence.

Re-joining is subject to the membership options, pricing, availability and Terms & Conditions in force at the time of returning.

6. ANNUAL MARTIAL ARTS LICENCE

All students must maintain a valid martial arts licence through our governing body.

The licence is separate from monthly membership and is normally valid for 12 months.

The licence provides or supports, as applicable:

• Governing body membership
• Eligibility to grade
• Eligibility to enter applicable sanctioned competitions
• Governing-body insurance, subject to the governing body's terms and policy conditions

Our system will normally contact you approximately 30 days before renewal.

The licence renewal payment will then be collected automatically using the payment details held within our membership/payment system.

Licence fees are determined by the governing body and may change.

Members/parents are responsible for ensuring their payment information remains current.

An expired licence may prevent a student from training, grading or competing until the licence has been renewed.

7. GRADING & PROGRESSION

Endurance Martial Arts Academy is a progressive martial arts and fighting academy.

Students are expected to learn, develop and work towards progression through the Endurance syllabus.

At Endurance:

BELTS ARE EARNED — NEVER GIVEN.

Grading is by invitation only.

Attendance for a particular length of time does not automatically entitle a student to grade or receive their next belt.

Grading invitations consider:

• Technical ability
• Consistent attendance
• Effort and commitment
• Discipline and attitude
• Readiness to progress

Students develop at different rates.

An instructor may decide that a student requires additional training before being ready to grade.

The Academy's instructors determine whether a student has reached the technical and developmental standard required for grading.

Students are expected to understand the syllabus requirements for their current grade and the grade they are working towards.

8. GRADING TIMESCALES

Our syllabus contains minimum progression periods and requirements.

These are minimum requirements and do not guarantee a grading invitation.

Current progression includes:

⚪ New Beginners — minimum 6 weeks before progressing from White Belt.

🟠 Up to Orange Belt — grading opportunities may be offered approximately every 3 months where the required standard has been achieved.

🔴 Red to Purple Belt — minimum 6 months between gradings.

🔵 Blue Belt & Above — progression includes Advanced/High Grade training requirements and increased commitment.

🟤 Brown Belt → Black Belt — minimum 1 year, consistent training, required High Grade Courses and minimum age requirements.

⚫ Black Belt → 1st Dan — minimum 24 months, consistent training, required High Grade Courses and minimum age requirements.

The current syllabus contains the full requirements and takes precedence over summaries contained in general communications.

Every lesson matters. Every belt is earned. Every achievement is respected.

9. MEMBERS APP & SYLLABUS

The Endurance Members App is an important part of membership.

Members and parents/guardians are expected to check it regularly.

The current grading syllabus is available at:

MEMBERS APP → FILES

The Members App may also contain:

• Endurance Squad Training
• High Grade Courses
• Black Belt Courses
• Gradings
• Competitions
• Special training
• Academy events
• Christmas events
• Other important Academy information

Some activities require advance booking.

It is the member's/parent's responsibility to check information relevant to their training, grading and Academy activities.

Students should use their syllabus throughout their training — not simply look at it immediately before grading.

Your syllabus is your training roadmap.

Know what you're working towards. Ask questions. Practise. Attend consistently. Improve.

10. STUDENT DEVELOPMENT PATHWAYS

Belt progression forms the foundation of Endurance training, but additional development pathways are available.

🔵 FIGHT TEAM

The Fight Team is its own pathway and can begin from White/Orange Belt.

Fight Team members are expected to:

• Regularly attend training and sparring sessions.
• Attend at least 4 Endurance Squad Sessions per year.
• Compete and represent Endurance to the required standard.
• Complete 6 national tournaments before becoming eligible to apply for the Blue Fighters Kit.
• Once awarded the Blue Fighters Kit, compete at least once every year to maintain Fight Team status and the right to wear it.

Being selected for the Fight Team is earned. Keeping your place is earned too.

🟢 INSPIRE LEADERSHIP

Available from Orange Belt+, age 11+.

INSPIRE students are expected to:

• Train at least twice per week.
• Attend gradings and Academy events as support.
• Assist with appropriate classes, demonstrations, warm-ups and Academy activities when requested.
• Set a positive example for other students.
• Develop leadership, communication and coaching skills.

🟣 ADVANCED STUDENTS

Advanced Student status begins from Purple Belt+.

Advanced students are expected to:

• Train at least twice per week.
• Attend Advanced/High Grade training where required.
• Maintain the technical standard appropriate to their grade.
• Demonstrate appropriate discipline, attitude and consistency.

Higher grade = higher responsibility.

11. INSTRUCTOR PATHWAY

Students demonstrating the appropriate technical ability, attitude and leadership qualities may have opportunities to progress through:

INSPIRE / Leadership → Assistant Instructor → Instructor → Senior Instructor

Achieving Black Belt does not automatically make someone an Endurance instructor.

Instructor progression requires appropriate technical knowledge, consistency, leadership, reliability, professionalism, coaching ability and the ability to represent Endurance and its standards.

12. ACADEMY RULES & ETIQUETTE

Martial arts is built on discipline, respect and teamwork.

All students are expected to help maintain the standards of Endurance Martial Arts Academy.

Members must:

  1. Treat instructors, members, visitors and staff with respect.

  2. Arrive no more than 10 minutes before class and be ready to begin on time.

  3. Wear the correct Endurance Academy uniform.

  4. Keep uniform tops tucked in and belts correctly tied where applicable.

  5. Remove jewellery, watches and accessories before training.

  6. Keep fingernails and toenails short, maintain appropriate personal hygiene and wear a clean uniform.

  7. Cover cuts/open wounds and inform an instructor of injury or illness relevant to training.

  8. Bring the correct equipment, including gum shield and appropriate sparring equipment where required.

  9. Do not bring chewing gum, food or fizzy drinks onto the training area.

  10. Do not wear outdoor shoes on the mats unless authorised.

  11. Keep phones away from the mats unless an instructor has authorised their use.

  12. Follow instructor directions promptly, particularly instructions concerning safety and discipline.

  13. Train with control and respect your training partners.

  14. Keep the Academy tidy and take personal belongings and rubbish home.

Official Endurance shorts may be worn without a belt.

Martial arts belts should not be worn outside the dojo except at an appropriate Academy event, grading, competition or authorised activity.

13. BEHAVIOUR & DISCIPLINE

Endurance is committed to providing a safe, respectful and inclusive training environment.

We have ZERO TOLERANCE for:

• Bullying or intimidation
• Abusive or offensive language or behaviour
• Discrimination
• Aggressive or threatening behaviour
• Deliberately attempting to injure another student
• Serious or repeated breaches of Academy rules

Depending on the circumstances, inappropriate behaviour may result in a warning, restriction from particular activities, suspension or termination of membership.

Serious safety or safeguarding concerns may require immediate action.

14. MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING & PHYSICAL RISK

Kickboxing and martial arts are physical activities.

Training may include:

• Punching and kicking techniques
• Padwork
• Bagwork
• Partner drills
• Fitness and conditioning
• Controlled contact
• Sparring
• Self-defence training
• Competition preparation

Participation in martial arts and combat sports carries an inherent risk of accidental injury.

Endurance will take reasonable steps to provide appropriate instruction, supervision and a suitable training environment.

Students are responsible for following instructor directions and using the protective equipment required for an activity.

Members/parents must provide relevant information concerning an injury, illness or medical condition where it may affect safe participation and should inform an instructor of relevant changes.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

15. SPARRING & PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Sparring is an important part of kickboxing development.

Students may participate when the instructor considers the activity appropriate for their age, experience and ability.

Where full sparring equipment is required, students must have all required equipment.

A student who arrives without the required protective equipment may be prevented from participating.

All sparring must be conducted with appropriate control and in accordance with instructor directions.

16. TRAINING AT OTHER CLUBS

Students are welcome to experience and train in other martial arts styles and disciplines.

However, Endurance students are expected not to simultaneously undertake their kickboxing development and grading through another kickboxing academy while actively progressing through the Endurance system.

Different kickboxing academies may use different techniques, terminology, rules, grading systems and coaching methods.

Having two kickboxing academies attempting to develop the same student in different ways can create unnecessary conflict and confusion.

If Endurance is your kickboxing academy, we expect your kickboxing development and grading pathway to take place through Endurance.

17. PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO & MEDIA

Photography and video are a normal and expected part of the Endurance Martial Arts Academy environment.

Classes, gradings, competitions, seminars, demonstrations, awards, Academy events and other activities may be photographed or filmed.

Images and footage may be used to:

• Celebrate student achievements
• Showcase Academy activities
• Promote Endurance Martial Arts Academy
• Produce Academy content
• Document events and competitions

This may include publication through:

• Facebook
• Instagram
• TikTok
• YouTube
• Endurance websites
• Academy communications
• Posters and displays
• Leaflets and printed material
• Advertising and other Endurance promotional media

By joining Endurance, members and parents/guardians acknowledge and understand that photography and filming take place as part of normal Academy activities and that Academy imagery may be published and used as described above, subject to applicable data protection and safeguarding requirements.

Endurance may also operate CCTV or other recording systems for security, safety and safeguarding purposes.

Parents, guardians, spectators and members are not permitted to independently photograph or film Academy classes without permission from Endurance.

Any concerns relating to photography, filming, privacy or safeguarding should be raised directly with Sensei Shak or Ria, our Club Safeguarding Lead.

18. SAFEGUARDING

The safety and welfare of children and vulnerable participants is extremely important to Endurance.

All students, parents, visitors, instructors and volunteers are expected to comply with Academy safeguarding requirements.

Safeguarding concerns should be reported to the Academy's Safeguarding Lead.

Where necessary and lawful, safeguarding information may be shared with relevant governing bodies, safeguarding organisations, statutory authorities or emergency services.

19. PERSONAL INFORMATION & DATA PROTECTION

Endurance collects and processes information necessary to administer memberships and operate the Academy.

Sensitive information, including relevant health information, will be handled with appropriate safeguards.

20. PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

Where a student is under 18, their parent/guardian is responsible for:

• Providing accurate registration information.

• Ensuring membership and licence payments are maintained.

Parents/guardians remain responsible for their children outside the supervised class.

Instructors cannot leave a class to escort children to the toilet.

21. ARRIVAL, LATENESS & COLLECTION

Students should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before their class.

Students must be ready to begin at the scheduled start time.

Late arrivals may not be permitted to join the class.

This is important for safety, class structure, warm-ups and discipline.

Parents/guardians are responsible for making appropriate arrangements for the safe arrival and collection of children.

22. TIMETABLE & CLASS CHANGES

Endurance may reasonably amend its timetable, class structure, instructors or individual sessions where operational circumstances require it.

Classes may occasionally be changed or cancelled due to matters including:

• Instructor illness
• Competitions
• Academy events
• Venue issues
• Safety concerns
• Adverse conditions
• Circumstances outside our reasonable control

Where reasonably possible, members will be notified of significant changes.

23. PARKING

Free parking is currently available at BizSpace, KG House while attending Endurance.

⚠️ VEHICLES MUST BE REGISTERED EVERY TIME YOU VISIT.

This applies even if the same vehicle has previously been registered.

Members are responsible for their own belongings.

Please avoid bringing valuable items to the Academy wherever possible.

Items are left at the owner's risk.

Unclaimed lost property will be retained for a reasonable period and may subsequently be donated, recycled or disposed of.

And, of course...

25. 1-2-1 PRIVATE COACHING

Private 1-2-1 coaching is separate from standard Academy membership.

Private sessions are subject to separate charges, availability and booking conditions.

Where applicable, session blocks, cancellation periods and rescheduling conditions will be explained when booking.

26. ACADEMY PROPERTY & EQUIPMENT

Members must treat the Academy, its equipment and the belongings of other members with respect.

Intentional or reckless damage may result in the member or responsible parent/guardian being required to meet reasonable repair or replacement costs where appropriate and lawful.

27. ONLINE SHOP & EQUIPMENT

Members are responsible for obtaining the uniform and equipment required for their training.

This may include appropriate sparring equipment as students progress.

Endurance clothing, equipment and other items are available through the Academy's Online Shop.

Students attending activities requiring particular protective equipment must bring that equipment with them.

28. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS

Endurance may update these Terms & Conditions where reasonably necessary because of changes to:

• Academy operations
• Membership services
• Governing-body requirements
• Safeguarding requirements
• Insurance requirements
• Legislation or regulation
• Health and safety requirements

Where a change materially affects an existing membership, Endurance will provide reasonable notice where required.

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions removes a member's statutory consumer rights.

29. TERMINATION BY ENDURANCE

Endurance reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership where there is a serious or persistent breach of these Terms & Conditions or Academy rules.

This may include serious misconduct, safeguarding concerns, threatening behaviour, deliberate violence outside legitimate supervised training, repeated non-payment or behaviour that creates an unacceptable risk to other members, staff or the Academy.

Any action taken will depend upon the circumstances and seriousness of the matter.

30. STATUTORY RIGHTS

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions affects rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under UK law.

If any individual provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, this does not automatically invalidate the remainder of these Terms & Conditions.
